3. 信息技术的使用可以给发展中国家带来巨大的进步。
The application of information technologies may (will) lead to great advancement for the developing countries.
（Lead to 有“带来”、“导致”（某某结果）的意思。 Advancement 尤指科技文化事业等方面的进步，似比progress更为贴切。）

4. 你解决问题的方式不对。
You dealt with the issue (problem) in an improper (inappropriate) manner. 或
You approached the issue in an improper manner.
没有用solve ，因为solve表明已解决了问题；原文的“解决”其实是“对待”的意思，可用deal with 或approach。 “问题”除用problem外也可用 issue，更倾向于用issue。没有用in a wrong manner表示“方式不对”，因in an improper (inappropriate) manner 较为委婉。

5. 科学家认为，人类即将找到战胜癌症的有效方法。
Scientists believe that humankind (human beings) are on the verge of finding an effective way to conque cancers.
On the verge of 原意为“在。。。边缘”，即“即将”。从词的涵义角度讲，humankind 或human beings 比mankind 或man更为贴切，因后者有性别歧视之嫌。

6. 离婚不能被视作儿戏。
Divorce cannot be taken lightly. 或
You cannot take divorce lightly.
Take ... lightly意即“不重视”、“当作儿戏”。第一种译法中，主语为“离婚”，得到应有的强调，书面体中见多；第二种译法，用泛指的You作主语，更加通俗，常用于口语体。
