在英语教学中，不论是宏观设计还是微观设计，不论是整堂课的设计还是片断的设计，我们都应以语言学教学理论为依据。着重考虑三个方面：
1．教学目标
教学目标是期望学生在完成学习任务后达到的程度，是预期的教学成果，是组织、设计、实施和评价教学的基本出发点。教学目标(teaching aims)可分为长期目标和近期目标。长

3．教学评价
所谓教学评价就是教师在教学过程中及结束时，利用多种方法，按照教学目标，对教学活动所引起的学生的变化进行价值判断，对所实施的教学活动进行评定。它在课堂英语教学中的作用主要表现在：①对课堂教学进行反思与改善。②激发学生学习的动机、兴趣。通过评价，学生明确了自己的成功和不足，成功的喜悦进一步增强学习动机，对不足之处的分析亦能使他们不断改进学习方法。
