圣诞节的由来(英文)~

Legend has it that this day is the day of the birth of Jesus. the virgin Mary gave birth to Jesus in the stable. Jesus redeemed the world and was crucified with blood. in order to commemorate all that Jesus had done to save the world, the world set December 25 as Christmas.
传说这一天是耶稣诞生的日子。圣母玛利亚在马厩里生下了耶稣。耶稣拯救了世界,被血钉在十字架上。为了纪念耶稣为拯救世界所做的一切,世界将12月25日定为圣诞节。
Legend has it that that day was the day of the birth of Christ. The Virgin Mary gave birth to Jesus in the stable. Jesus was crucified with blood for redemption.
The world saved the world in memory of Jesus.
Therefore, the day he was born was December 25 as Christmas. Many years later, various Santa Claus images and Christmas tree shapes gradually appeared. For example, Christmas has become more popular all over the world, but for Christians, Christmas has given a sacred color different from ordinary people.

The word Christmas comes from the United Kingdom in the 10th and 12th centuries. Its own meaning refers to "the mass of Christ", that is, "a meal for Christ." This ceremony is derived from the "Last Supper" of the New Testament.
The word "Christ's Mass" is a patchwork of Greek and Latin, because the Christ comes from the Greek language, and it means only the Jewish "anointed" and is extended to the savior; Mass, from Missa, Latin, meant a meeting, and it was extended to the church of Thanksgiving.
So sometimes abbreviated as "Xmas." This may be because X is similar to the Greek letter (Chi); is the first letter in the Greek word "Christ."
Some people think that this may be due to the rise of Western multiculturalism in recent years in order to respect people of other faiths in order to dilute the religious color of Christmas.
The Dutch name is similar to English, called Kerstmis, and is often shortened to Kerst. Christmas Spanish is called Navidad, Portuguese is called Natal, Polish is called Bo E Narodzenie, French is called Noël, Italian is called Natale, and Catalan is called Nadal, meaning "birth"., more clearly reflect the meaning of Christmas. In contrast, German is called Weihnachten, meaning "Holy night."

Christmas Day-December 25-which celebrates the birth of Jesus Christ, the founder of the Christian religion, is the biggest and best-loved holiday in the United States.

According to the Bible, the holy book of Christians, God decided to allow his only son, Jesus Christ, to be born to a human mother and live on earth so that people could

understand God better and learn to love God and each other more. "Christmas"- meaning "celebration of Christ "- honors the time when Jesus was born to a young Jewish woman Mary.

Mary was engaged to be married to Joseph, a carpenter, but before they came together, she was found to be with child. Because Joseph, her husband, was a righteous man and did not want to expose her to public disgrace, he had in mind to

divorce her quietly. But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, "Do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because

what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins."

Although the exact date of the birth of Jesus nearly 2,000 years ago is not known, the calendar on the supposed date divides all time into B.C. (Before Christ )and A.D.

( a Latin phrase, Anno Domini, "in the year of our Lord.")For the first 300 years, Jesus’ birthday was celebrated on different dates. Finally, in the year 354, church leaders chose December 25 as his birthday.

Christmas is also called Christmas, translated as "Christ's mass", western traditional festival, every year in December 25th. Mass is a kind of church service. Christmas is a religious festival, because regard it as to celebrate the birth of Jesus, named "christmas".

Christmas is a public holiday in the western world and in many other regions, such as Hongkong, Macao, Malaysia, and Singapore in Asia. The Bible actually did not record the date of birth of Jesus, Christmas is a public.
