作文：Dear Mrs. White
This mail is to thank you for everything that you have done for me during the one month I stay in America.
I studied for one month in America as an exchange student. Altough it is not a long time, you really helped me a lot, no matter on life or my study. As a newcomer, it is you who give me the meticulous care, which makes me feel warm like a famliy. As a Chinese student, it is you who helped me patiently, which benifit my English and study a lot.
I really appreciate all of these, and I also really miss this period. I hope that we can keep in touch.
And my dear friend, you are weclome to China, I will introudce you my famliy and friends, show the famous sight, take you to taste delicious Chinese traditional snack. Trust that will be another happiness time.

Directions: You are allowed 30 minutes to write a composition on the topic Studying Abroad. You should write at least 120 words and you must base your composition on the following instruction.

Nowadays many Chinese students are interested in studying abroad. They spend much more time, energy and money on the preparation for studying abroad than on their own majors in college. And some of them even begin to prepare for GRE and TOFEL at the beginning of their college life.

Why are they so over-enthusiastic about studying abroad? One of the reasons may be that they prefer a different style of life, which can open a new world to them and help enrich their experiences. Moreover, he or she will become a multi-cultural person.Secondly, they can improve their foreign language quickly, and thus they are likely to get a good job. Lastly, better laboratory equipment and large amounts of information may be another attraction for many students.

However, as everything has two sides, there are also some problems in attending a foreign university such as language barrier, lack of knowledge of the local culture, etc. Therefore, misunderstandings often arise, in addition, the cost of living is so high that the students have to find part-time jobs in order to help support themselves. This may cause them not to pay full attention to their studies and fail in their courses and learn little.

As for met, I would like to study abroad in the future. But the cost is too high for me to afford, so I will work for several years in China after graduation, Then I think I will be better prepared not only in finance but also in experiences, so that I may catch an opportunity to study abroad.

Hi, Li Hua，I heard that you met some problems in learning Chinese, I would like to share some of my experiences with you, hope it could help anyway.
I remember I was started with learning 'pinyin' in the first stage of pronounciation. There is a pingyin chart, so much like alphabet chart in English, which also should be memorized, because it could help you alot in learning new words by yourself in the future.
In writing, you must start with basic strokes and then write regular chinese characters. Pay attention on the proportion of the characters in horizontal and vertical directions, you could master the soul of chinese hand-writing by practicing it many many times.
The most important part of Chinese learning is grammar. A sentence is a word or a group of words that makes a complete sense. We composed hundreds of sentences by using certain words or phrases, which are from daily activities, so you may have so many chances to use it after class.
