Dear Judges and Friends,
The topic for my speech today is “Festival.”l would like to talk about my favorite festival, the Spring Festival.Chinese New Year is the most important festivity for the Chinese people. It is also called the Spring Festival or the Lunar New Year.Every year has an animal's name. These animals are the rat, ox, tiger, rabbit, dragon, snake, horse, ram, monkey, rooster, dog and pig. A Chinese legend says that these twelve animals had a race. The first year was named after the rat, the winner. The other eleven years were named after the order in which the animals arrived in the race. The clever rat jumped onto the ox's back then at the end jumped over the ox's head to arrive first! The Chinese believe that a person born in aparticular year has some of the characteristics of animal.On Chinese New Year's Eve all family.members enjoy a big, delicious meal. lt is very important for the Chinese to be with thein families on this occasion. Fish is always part of the dinner because it represents abundance.On New Year's Day all Chinese children wear new clothes with bright colors. Red is considered a lucky color. Parents and relatives give children the traditional New Year's gift called lucky money. This money is put into bright red and gold envelopes. Put it under the pillow. On the morning of new year , the kids wake up to see the “lucky money” express that oneself become one year older. Red is a traditional color for festivals, celebrations weddings and birthdays.
The lion dancers are always part of the festivity. The lion has a big head and long body made of cloth. The lion dance is accompanied by drums, cymbals and noisy firecrackers. According to ancient traditions that grant noice triahtanc yavilsnirits .The dragon is the most important figure of the Chinese New Year festivities and parades. The dragon is considered a lucky figure. A parade dragon can be 20 to 30 meters long! Sixty or more men move under a long cloth that represents the dragon's tail.

我今天演讲的主题是“节日”。我想谈谈我最喜欢的节日-春节。
农历新年是中国人最重要的节日。它也被称为春节或农历新年。
每个年都有一个动物的名字。这些动物是鼠，牛，虎，兔，龙，蛇，马，羊，猴，鸡，狗和猪。有一个中国传说说，这十二种动物有一个比赛。第一年以获胜者老鼠的名字命名。其他十一年以动物到达比赛的顺序命名。聪明的老鼠跳到牛的背上，最后跳过牛的头先到了!中国人认为，某一年出生的人具有对应动物的一些特征。
在农历除夕夜，所有家庭成员都可以享用丰盛美味的大餐。对于中国人来说，在这个场合与家人在一起非常重要。鱼总是晚餐的一部分，因为它代表着年年有余。
元旦那天，所有中国孩子都穿颜色鲜艳的新衣服。红色被认为是一种幸运的颜色。父母和亲戚给孩子传统的新年礼物，称为红包。这笔钱被放入红色和金色的信封中。把它放在枕头下面。新年早晨，孩子们醒来看到红包，表示自己长大了一岁。红色是节日、庆典、婚礼和生日的传统颜色。舞狮者总是庆祝活动的一部分。狮子有一个大头和由布制成的身体。舞狮伴随着鼓声、钹声和嘈杂的鞭炮声。根据古老的传统，巨大的噪音会吓跑妖魔鬼怪。龙是中国新年庆祝活动和游行中最重要的。龙是幸运的象征，一条游行的龙可以有 20到 30米长!大概六十多个人在龙尾巴的长布下移动。
