关于初一英语小短文带翻译
：嗟来之食
food handed out in contempt
One year during the Spring and Autumn Period 春秋时期,770-476 BC, there was a the Qi State齐国 was severely strickend by a famine.
春秋时代，有一年齐国发生大饥荒。
Qian Ao qián ào 黔敖, a very rich but arrogant man took the occasion to showcase hisgenerosity through preparing food by the roadside and giving it to the passing refugees incharity.
有一位叫做黔敖有钱贵族，在街边准备食物分发给来往的难民，以显示自己的慷慨。
A man with shabby clothes happened to walk by with his shoes trailing along, he was so hungry as not to open his eyes.
有一个饥民，用衣袖蒙着脸，拖着鞋，饿得眼睛都睁不开的样子，慢慢地走过来。
Seeing the poor man, Qian Ao held the food by left hand and the drink by right hand, and shouted at him,"Hi, e to eat !”
黔敖见了，就左手拿着吃的，右手捧著喝的，向他喊道：“喂，来吃吧!”
Hearing the word, the man glared his eyes and said, “It is because I am not willing to eat the food handed out in contempt that I have been famished to such a degree. "
那人一听这话，立即瞪着眼睛，说道：“我就是因为不吃‘嗟来之食，才饿到这般地步的。"
Though Qian Ao made an apology to him for that, the man still resolutely refused to eat the food and thus he died of hunger in the end.
尽管黔敖向他道歉，那人仍然坚决不吃，终于饿死了。
This set phrase now extensively denotes the disrespectful aims. This story means that a person who has a strong sense of self-respect would rather die of hunger than be despised.
此故事讲的是一个怀有强烈自尊心的人，宁可饿死也不肯接受人轻视。现在这个成语泛指带有侮辱性的施舍。

Long ago, there lived a man named Guo Han.
从前， 有一个叫郭翰的人。
It was a hot summer. He couldn't fall asleep in his bedroom, so he went into the yard to sleep.
因为夏天天热， 在屋子里无法入睡， 就到院子里去睡觉。
Not long after he lay down he saw a woman dressed in white floating down from the sky.
躺下不久，正看着天空， 忽然看见一个白衣女子从空中慢慢飘流下来。
She said to him: "I am the celestial weaver."
她对郭翰说：“我是天上的织女。”
Looking at her Guo Han noticed that there were no seams in her garments.
郭翰看着这个女子，发现他的衣服全身无缝。
He thought this was very strange.
他觉得很奇怪。
He asked her: "Why are there no seams in your clothes?"
他就问她：“你的衣服怎么没有缝呢?”
She answered: "The garments of the immortals are not made with a needle and thread. How would they have seams?"
女子回答：“天上神仙的衣服，不是用针线缝出来的， 怎么会有缝呢?”
：江郎才尽

Jiang Yan lived during the Liang dynasty of the Northern and Southern Dynasties Period, in the area now known as Henan province.
南北朝时，有一位名叫江淹的人，居住在现在的河南省。
Although he came from a poor family, he as extremely hard working, and so became a high-level civil official.
江淹出身贫寒，但他十分刻苦，所以后来便当上了一位本地的高官。
Jiang Yan was very talented in the area of literature. Both his poems and his essays wereoutstanding, and he was known by nearly all the scholars of his time.
江淹十分有文采，在诗词歌赋都十分优秀，在当时的学者中都极富盛名。
Jiang Yan once had a dream that a man came to him and said, "My name is Guo Pu. One of my pens has been here with your for several years. Please give it back to me now."
有一天，江淹在凉亭里睡觉，做了一个梦，梦中有一个叫郭璞的人对他说：“我有一支笔放在你那里已经很多年了，现在应该是还给我的时候了。”
In his pocket, Jiang Yan found a multi-colored pen, which he returned to Guo Po.
江淹摸了摸怀里，果然掏出一支五色笔来，于是他就把笔还给郭璞。
As Jiang Yan grew older,the poems and essays that he wrote were not as good as those he had written when he was younger.
从此以后，江淹就再也写不出如同年少时写的美妙的文章了。
Everyone said that when Jiang Yan gave away his multi-colored pen, he used up the last of his talent.
因此，人们都说江郎自从放弃了他的五色笔之后，他的才华已经用尽了。
