基数词 ：表示数目的词称为基数词.其形式如下：
（1）．从1——10 one,two,three,four,five,six,seven,eight,nine,ten．
（2）．从 11——15 eleven,twelve,thirteen,fourteen,fifteen,

1：one，2：two，3：three，4：four，5：five，6：six，7：seven，8：eight，9：nine，10：ten，11：eleven，12：twelve，13：thirteen，14：fourteen，15：fifteen。
英语中数词主要分为基数词和序数词两类。所谓基数在数学上的理解是可以比较大小的数。英语中的基数词是用于描述事物数量的多少。
1-20中的基数词中eleven， twelve， thirteen， fifteen， eighteen为特殊形式外，fourteen，sixteen，seventeen，nineteen都是由其个位数形式后添加后缀-teen构成。

基数词用法
基数词在句中可作主语、宾语、定语、表语、同位语，基数词主要表示事物或人物的个数。
1、The two happily opened the box。两个人高兴地打开了盒子。（作主语）
2、I need three altogether。我总共需要三个。（作宾语）
3、Four students are playing volleyball outside。四个学生在外面打排球。（作定语）
4、We are sixteen。我们是16个人。（作表语）
5、They three tried to finish the task before sunset。他们三个人尽力想在日落前完成任务。（作同位语）

表示数目多少或顺序先后的词叫做数词(numeral)。数词与不定式代词很相似，其用法相当于名词与形容词。
1-12的基数词是：

twelve 12.
13-19，皆由3-9加字尾-teen构成，即：

20-90等十位数均由2-9加加后缀-ty构成，即：

21-29由十位数20加个位数1-9构成，中间须有连字符“-”，即：

其它的十位数照些类推，如：

2)百位数由1-9加hundred构成，如包含十位数及个位数，中间用and连接，也可以不用;如只包含个位数，即十位数为零时，则and不可省。如：

5)基数词相当于名词，可有复数形式，其构成方法及读音与名词相同。hundred，thousand，million的复数形式常后接of短语，表示不确定数目。如：
two threes 两个三
a man in his forties 40多岁的人
hundreds (thousands，millions) of dollars 几百(千，百万)美元
tens of thousands of people 数以万计的人
hundreds and hundreds of times 成百倍
thousands upon thousands of people 成千上万的人
如hundreds，thousands，millions的意义清楚，其后的of短语可省去。如：
Hundreds of thousands are homeless. 几十万人无家可归。
Millions are starving. 成百万人在挨饿。
The dollar revenues each year were undoubtedly in the tens of thousands. 每年美元岁收肯定以万计。
表示数量的dozen与score的用法和hundred，thousand相似，前有数词时不加-s，分别表示“十二”和“二十”的意思，如果用复数形式，前面没有明确的数字，表示“概数”，即“几十个”的意思。如：
I have told you dozens of times. 我跟你说过几十次了。
They received scores of letters about their TV programs. 关于他们的电视节目，他们收到了大批来信。
Buy me a dozen eggs if you go to the supermarket. 如果你去超市，给我买十二个鸡蛋。
I have learned English for one score years. 我学英语学了二十年。
