Fángchénggǎng (Chinese: 防城港), formerly Fangcheng Various Nationalities Autonomous County (1978.12.25~1993.05.23), is a prefecture-level city in the south of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, People's Republic of China.
Fangchenggang a coastal city is in southern Guangxi, bordering Vietnam. Its area is 6,181 km2 (2,386 sq mi), 120 km2 (46 sq mi) of that urban.

我国密如繁星的众多城市中，在举世闻名的北部湾顶上，有一座颇具特色的滨海之城——钦州，她有钦江、茅岭江和大风江穿城而过，流入浩瀚的钦州湾出海。
钦州，古称安州，有1400年悠久的历史，南北朝宋代时期置宋寿郡，梁代设安州。隋开皇十八年(公元598年)改安州为钦州。唐武德五年(公元622年)改宁越郡为钦州总管府，元改为钦州路，明初改为钦州府，民国年间改为钦县，属广东省钦廉专署所辖。解放后，广东省设钦廉行政专员公署，1951年改隶广西省，1955年复隶广东省。1965年7月再隶广西壮族自治区，改为钦州地区行政专员公署，下辖上思、防城、钦州、灵山、浦北、合浦、北海七个县市，1983年10月划出北海市和防城港，1987年7月划出合浦县归北海市管辖，1993年5月防城港市成立，划出防城县和上思县归防城港市管辖。1994年6月经国务院批准、钦州地区撤地设市，改为地级钦州市建制。
