【简析】：
这首五律，描述送别情景，历历如在目前，语言流畅，好像毫不受格律的束缚。

[注释]（1）北郭：北城门外。（2）孤蓬：蓬是一种草，枯后断根，遇风吹散，飞转无定。此处孤蓬喻孤独远行的友人。（3）故人：诗人自称。（4）萧萧：马的嘶叫声。班马：离群之马，喻人之分别。


[译文]北城门外青山横亘，东城之外白水环绕。在此地一分别，你就要像孤蓬一样万里飘泊了。白云飘浮不定如游子心意，太阳缓缓落山像我依依不舍的感情。彼此挥手，从此别离；萧萧马鸣，不忍分别。


这是一首充满诗情画意的送别诗，诗人与友人策马辞行，情意绵绵，动人肺腑。
首联“青山横北郭，白水绕东城”，点出告别的地点。诗人已经送友人来到了城外，然而两人仍然并肩缓辔，不愿分离。只见远处，青翠的山峦横亘在外城的北面，波光粼粼的流水绕城东潺潺而过。这两句，“青山”对“白水”，“北郭”对“东城”，首联即写成工丽的对偶句，确是别开生面；而且“青”、“白”相间，色彩明丽。“横”字勾勒青山的静姿，“绕”字描画白水的动态。诗笔挥洒自如，描摹出一幅寥廓秀丽的图景。
中间两联切题，写离别的深情。颔联“此地一为别，孤蓬万里征”。此地一别，离人就要象蓬草那样随风飞转，到万里之外去了。此二句表达了对朋友飘泊生涯的深切关怀。落笔如行云流水，舒畅自然，不拘泥于对仗，别具一格。颈联“浮云游子意，落日故人情”，却又写得十分工整，“浮云”对“落日”，“游子意”对“故人情”。同时，诗人又巧妙地用“浮云”、“落日”作比，来表明心意。天空中一抹白云，随风飘浮，象征着友人行踪不定，任意东西；远处一轮红彤彤的夕阳徐徐而下，似乎不忍遽然离开大地，隐喻诗人对朋友依依惜别的心情。在这山明水秀、红日西照的背景下送别，特别令人留恋而感到难舍难分。这里既有景，又有情，情景交融，扣人心弦。
尾联两句，情意更切。“挥手自兹去，萧萧班马鸣。”送君千里，终须一别。“挥手”，是写了分离时的动作，那么内心的感觉如何呢？诗人没有直说，只写了“萧萧班马鸣”的动人场景。这一句出自《诗经·车攻》“萧萧马鸣”。班马，离群的马。诗人和友人马上挥手告别，频频致意。那两匹马仿佛懂得主人心情，也不愿脱离同伴，临别时禁不住萧萧长鸣，似有无限深情。马犹如此，人何以堪！李白化用古典诗句，著一“班”字，便翻出新意，烘托出缱绻情谊，可谓鬼斧神工。
这首送别诗写得新颖别致，不落俗套。诗中青翠的山岭，清澈的流水，火红的落日，洁白的浮云，相互映衬，色彩璀璨。班马长鸣，形象新鲜活泼。自然美与人情美交织在一起，写得有声有色，气韵生动。诗的节奏明快，感情真挚热诚而又豁达乐观，毫无缠绵悱恻的哀伤情调。这正是评家深为赞赏的李白送别诗的特色。

In conclusion, Europe and Asia have the most advantage in sport. one has the physical advantage, the other in the number of participants. So I project the final rankings of the Pent-Continental Games would be:
1. Europe 2. Asia 3. North America 4. South America and Australia 5. Africa
