~ The Earth's surface is mostly covered with water, yet our planet is both hungry and thirsty. This may seem paradoxical, but over 97% of the water is salty, leaving only about 3% as freshwater from rivers, lakes, underground sources, and others. Unfortunately, not all of this freshwater is accessible or even pure due to pollution.
Currently, this small percentage of freshwater is sufficient to meet our needs as it is replenished by rainfall. However, our demand for water is growing daily, and if we do not address this issue now, we could face a severe global water shortage in the future. A limited water supply would severely impact agriculture and industry. For instance, it takes approximately 91,000 liters of water to produce a single ton of steel.
It is imperative that we learn to stop wasting this precious resource. One initial step should be the development of water recycling methods. While experiments in this field have been conducted on a small scale, the importance of such systems is as significant as that of spacecraft for us.
节约用水
地球表面大部分被水覆盖，然而我们的星球却同时面临饥饿和干旱的困境。这可能看似矛盾，但实际上，地球上的水中有超过97%是咸水，只有大约3%是来自河流、湖泊、地下水源和其他地方的淡水。不幸的是，由于污染，并非所有这些淡水都能使用或甚至保持纯净。
