I believe everyone has a right to their opinion about films or other topics. However from a lot of the comments I have read about this film, I do not think many got the gist of the message from the author and the film maker. This film is a great modern fable, a fable in the dictionary is defined as a brief fictitious story that teaches a moral. There are many morals defined in this film but foremost is integrity and a simple goodness.

I have a half brother who grew up in the Southern U.S. and on one occasion we were discussing this film and he said he felt it portrayed Southerners as dimwitted. I disagreed with him and informed him that the author himself was a native Southerner. The setting is central to this story in that it lets the tale unfold tying in factual events with the fable before us.

The film was wonderfully directed and acted by a great cast on all levels. From the children who were Forrest Gump and Gump Jr. by Haley Joel Osment. Say what you want but I feel Tom Hanks deserved the Oscar award. Gary Sinise is synonymous with Lt.Dan whenever you hear those words. Sally Fields is the loving dutiful mother in her challenging situation. Mykelti Williamson as Bubba gives you a real sense in the story that Gump had a genuine friend, he moves you with his character. Words don't grasp the full performance of Robin Wright Penn as Jenny. Jennys' tenderness and pain are palpable as exhibited by Wright.

I feel that much of Gumps'appeal is his downright sense of doing the right thing regardless of the people and situations around him and we see that in this film. That being the case maybe we all wish we could be just a little more like that, the innate goodness and not the trade-offs we make as we go down lifes' highways.

The movie has it all too,drama,comedy and it challenges societal norms as well. Then there are the almost endless quotes from the movie that have slipped into everyday speech. They are too numerous to say at this point.One of the toppers for me in the movie is when Forrest is in a quandary about life and wondering as Lt.Dan said we all have a destiny and his Moms where we are all just floating around like a feather in the wind. Forrest's character puts into a term that I think is pretty to the point,I think it is a little bit of both. From my experiences in life it does sure seem to be that way. So if you have not seen the movie,see it soon you are in for a real treat. If you did not like it, give it a try again and hopefully you will see it for the great story it is!

　　一个南阿拉巴马州的傻子阿甘，一辈子喜欢的一个女人就是珍妮，从小到大阿甘和珍妮就是好朋友，他们一起上学，一起长大，最后虽然相隔很远但是阿甘始终爱着珍妮，不管她做什么，不管她是谁，不管她变得多老多丑，不管她身在何方，阿甘始终在哪个南阿拉巴马的家里，日夜思念他的姑娘，日夜等待着珍妮的归来。

　　这就是阿甘，这就是他的爱情，这就是他的珍妮。

　　我们回想第一个场景，阿甘在珍妮的宿舍，珍妮问他将来要成为什么样的人，阿甘楞了一下，说：我不是做我自己吗？珍妮说她想成为一个歌手，成名，阿甘还是不懂，说他只想成为他自己。

　　我被这个场面深深打动，因为阿甘虽然是个傻子，但是他明白自己真正需要的是什么。成名，赚钱，成为一个成功的人，这些都不重要，重要的是我们要做好自己，我们为什么值得让别人尊敬？是因为我们的职业？地位？还是家产？如果这样，那人的本身才成为这些头衔的附属品，我应该成为我，而且我只想成为我，对于阿甘来说，他只想做他自己，只想爱一个女人叫做珍妮。

　　在华盛顿的那一场，珍妮问阿甘为什么他对她这么好，土鳖一点的男人会拉着珍妮的手，含情脉脉的说因为我爱你。阿甘不是，他又摆出那个招牌一样的白痴表情，对这珍妮说： you are my girl（因为你是我的女孩）。

　　为什么不是I love you ？为什么不是我爱你？因为我爱你已经无需多言，如果我爱你，而你不爱我，那么对于我来说这就不能承受，我可能会找另外一个女人去爱，但是因为你是我的女孩，所以我可以承受你的背叛，你的逃离，我也可以忍受孤独，忍受没有你的日子，重要的不仅仅是我爱你，而是因为从我看见你的那一刻起我就知道，你是我的女孩，你是我的姑娘。

　　如果有人仔细想想这句话，看看阿甘那张单纯的脸，那双眼睛，就能体会到什么是爱一个人，什么是喜欢一个人，什么是认识一个人，什么是放弃一个人。

　　我常常会遇到这样的事情，恋爱中的男女，不管他们究竟为了什么恋爱，不管他们付出了多少，在付出较多的一方经常会抱怨，说自己付出的太多，或者回报很少。于是第三个声音就会告诉你：不要把男人（女人）太当回事，你越把他（她）当回事，他（她）越不把你当回事。

　　在我看来，这些都是懦弱的人，愚蠢的人，因为你们其实根本没有在恋爱。你们只是在爱情的称呼下自我陶醉，却在付出回报的时候露出了真正的不足。

　　因为爱情本来就是奢侈品，你不能因为孤独寻找爱情，你不能因为贫穷寻找爱情，就好像你不能因为自己还是一个处男（处女）而跟别人上床一样。爱情的价值在于当你的生活本来就已经很丰富的时候，突然你想找一个人来分享这一切，在你本来幸福的时候，爱情会让你更幸福。

　　所以这个时候的你根本不需要从对方身上获得什么，你有的就是付出的欲望，这才是爱情。

　　没有束缚，不要求回报，在爱对方的同时能够承受住他（她）的背叛和逃离。这才是真正的爱情。

　　爱一个人很容易，但是能想阿甘那样承受所谓的痛苦却非常难，因为这些不是爱，更像是对自我价值的证明。

　　那个南阿拉巴马的傻子阿甘，最终娶了珍妮，生了一个小阿甘。他们快乐的生活在一起。在影片最后，当阿甘站在珍妮墓前，用南阿拉巴马的口音说：我爱你珍妮。这是我们的眼里才会闪烁着泪花，为的不是这个傻子终于娶了珍妮，而是因为这个傻子拥有许多聪明人没有的感情：爱情。而那些自以为拥有了爱情的聪明人其实并没有得到爱，也不知道什么是爱。

　　这样来说，阿甘并不是一个傻子，至少不是一个普通的傻子。 影评是人家的我复制给你的，你随便的看看吧…………这部电影，第一次在地摊上买的杂志，里面有介绍，从这起知道有这么个电影，后来中学老师组织在学校看过了一次……

HOPE In this film,I have to say,"Forrest Gump is a lucky dog".Because although all of his action are unconscious and lack of thinking opinion, everytime he can get a goog result—a footballstar,a war hero,a richer…why?Out of question,it’s hope,and that is one of many issues which this film want to tell us. Inside Forrest’s heart,hope is equal to running and the box of chocolate─you never know what you’are gonna get. When the first time Jenny asked Forrest to run away and the first time Forrest freed himself from the bondage,hope had been growing up in his mind.And later,the death of his mother and the Jenny’s disappearance once again disappointed him.For searching his hope back,he began to run and the running lasted three years.At this moment,I think,he has already tooken running for his hope.Like his words,"I just felt like running". And what is the Jenny’s hope?In fact,the beginning of the film has already told us—she prayed that she can turn to a bird,flying higher and higher.But at last ,she lost herself. I think this is a clever point in the film,— the hopes are good for our life or bad for our life. The answer to this question I still look for… DESTINY To face destiny,this film has three kinds figure represent three attitudes.Forrest’s mother represent believer, Captain Dan represent suspicious men,Jenny represent rebel. Forrest’s mother in bed told Forrest:"It’s something we’re all destined to do.I didn’t know,but I was destined to be your momma.I did the best I could.” And Captain Dan at the beginning believed his destiny strongly,but after many things he started to doubt his destiny.In rainstorm,he roared:”Where the hell’s this God of yours?” He didn’t believe God any longer.His action showed that this kind of men are in a puzzle ─Does the destiny exist on earth? Jenny,as a rebel,has been rebeling her ordinary living all the time—turning on the cover of <Play Boy> ,singing in the bar…She symbolises the rising generation in this American period.They rebeled this society and the destiny forced by tradition.But,this rebel tired in the end,and she choosed died calmly in Forrest’s arms. Forrest,who watches from outside,tolds us the film’s issue: “I don’t know if we each have a destiny,or if we’re all just floating around accidental-like on a breeze,but I think maybe it’s both.Maybe both is happening at the same time.I miss you,Jenny.If there’s anything you need,I won’t be far away. “ Maybe destiny is like that feather,which has no concrete direction ,and the ordinary experience tired us.However,any turning is controlled by themselves freely,there’s one thing you must do─do you dest. LOVE "I’m not a smart man,but I know what love is。 Love is film’s eternal theme .We give our tears and laughter generously.The love in this film is a process which a man with low IQ speaks out “love”. I think that Forrest doesn’t only say to Jenny,but also say to his mother and Buba.Because the love realized by Forrest includes many things,not only heart. The death of his mother and many times Jenny’s disappearance let Forrest know what love is . In fact,no matter whether Jenny love Forrest, Forrest gets love and we get love from this film. In the end,I think of a poem: Do not undermine your worth by comparing yourself with others. It is because we are different that each of us is special. Do not give up when you still have something to give. Nothing is really over until the moment you stop trying. It is a fragile thread that binds us to each other. Do not shut love out of your life by saying it is impossible to find. The quickest way to receive love is to give love; The fastest way to lose love is to hold it too tightly. Do not dismiss your dreams. To be without dreams is to be without hope; To be without hope is to be without purpose. Life is not a race, but a journey to be savored each step of the way.

Life is a box of chocolates,you never know what you'are gonna get Dialogues of Forrest Gump, who is a idiot at the beginning. But he is also a lucky guy when experiences his colorful life. No one knows what's going on and what you are going to get in the future. I specially love this sentence"Life is a box of chocolates,you never know what you'are gonna get." There are many chances as chocolates in our life,but which is better for us, we should think over about it before making decisions.Although we take more consideration, we may in some traps or difficulties. If you never take it into action,it is just a dreaming forever.Nothing is impossible for a willing heart.Life is a long long journey,everyone has a long long way to go. No matter what in the future, just go where what I want to go and gain what I want to possess.
