Throughout most of the 20th century, a high school diploma was usually enough to assure a job . In fact, many large companies operated their own internal training and development programs for recent high school graduates. Recent changes in the global job market have put an end to those traditions. Very few people experience the stability of working for only one or two employers throughout their careers. In fact, most workers entering their first job today will change career paths at least seven times before they reach retirement age.

I majored in electrical engineering four years ago and have since been interested in the computer science. After college I got a job as an electronic engineer. My job has brought me into close contact with the computer and as a result my interest in it has kept growing all the time. A computer is after all a man-made machine; therefore, its effectiveness depends upon man's ingenuity. So long as we can program it using mathematical models, it can do almost anything we want. Of course, the capabilities of a computer depend upon its size——whether it is a microcomputer, a minicomputer, or a large computer. We can't use a microcomputer in complicated digital processing or sonar signal processing. If we do that, the time it spends in such processing would be longer than we expect. On the other hand, if we use a large computer to do only a small job ordinarily assigned to a personal computer, the cost would be very high.

There are many causes for this change. For one thing, computers can do a lor of things that may be difficult for man to do, making man’s work easier. So, many people turn to computers for help when they want to have their job done. For another, computers are becoming cheaper day by day. As a result, many universities install them in large numbers and many families can afford to buy one, consequently, they are always available for the students to use. But the prime reason, I think, is that with the development of society, computers are used in ahnost all walks of life. Those who are specialized in operating computers are badly needed. If a student is good at computer, chances will be greater for him to get a job.

Many problems also arise in students use of computers. One problem is that some students spend too much time sitting in front of their computers, as a result, their bealth is affected. The other problem is that some students chat or play video games for a long time on computers, wasting a lot of their precious time. So it is suggested that these students make a scientific and positive use of the computers.

三、Most parents and teachers think it is a bad thing to play computer games.They think it is a waste of time and money.Playing too many computer games is also bad for children's eyes and health.
However,computer games can also bring some benefits.They can help people in many ways if people spend proper time on it.Some computer games can improve people's ability of thinking.They can make people think in different ways.Playing computer games can also help people be familiar with the keyboard.If people are familiar with the keyboard,they can type fast.
More and more people begin to disign educational CD-ROM.They want go any people to gain some knowledge while they are playing computer games.
