在英语中什么情况下用in什么情况下用on?

in bed:固定短语 ，意思躺在床上。当然也可以用on the bed，但是意思会变，指人的时候，指没有睡着，或者在床上但是没有躺下。on 是表示在物体的表面上，on the couch表示只能坐在沙发上，沙发没有破的情况下是坐不进去棉花里的。
