sopor Aeternus曾有个音乐杂志在形容sopor Aeternus的音乐时，用了这样的描述来形容：「这是你必须在一脚踏入坟墓里，而且另一只脚踩在精神病院的情况下聆听的音乐」。这种形容过于表面，也粗糙了些，是不大适切的。底下我们提供另外两种不同的方式来看待，当然，不同的人应该选择自个儿适用的途径。
她开出的这两剂处方，服用的方法有很多种，其中之一的使用说明是：「抗百忧解」。假使你经常沉思，或不由自主的跌入回忆里，就算发楞也可以，她这两张专辑可以协助你跌得更深更沉更无法自拔。她不会抢占你私密的记忆，也不会侵入你那如黑洞般的虚无，仅会让你更晕眩更陶醉更虚弱无力。此种方式适用于自觉消极、容易自溺的人。
另一种给自认积极、自信心强韧到可高压锻练百转成丹的人，服用说明是：「治愈总在失足处」。一旦你走上这条陡坡，这是可以让人沉淀下来静静地思索「生命与死亡其实是个平和且连续的过程」这类问题；或是当你想深入了解「死亡」以及贴近死亡带来种种分离、恐惧等等痛苦并试图去克服它时，可以聆听的音乐。例如看完「百分之百的女孩」和「极地恋人」这两部影片后，假如你思索过程缓慢，无法在情绪渐灭前完成，来听听这样的音乐，延长你的情绪，继续体会生离死别的痛苦，并repeat直到你思虑完全解开。
而自认为深具宗教情怀，对宗教有莫名狂热或已远离「贪瞋痴慢疑」，脑子里「定静安虑得」转个不停的修道人，以上两种处方都可以尝试一下，不仅考验你的修习，或许也可能有加强信念的些微作用。
如果有一种音乐能称得上全然的「歌特」(gothic)，那就是Sopor Aeternus。一位德国的网友盛赞着。虽然，各种溢美之词无法表达这两张专辑带给我的震憾，我还是愿意说：「她引领我看见光明中的光明，触摸黑暗中的黑暗。我心底沉淀的污泥，被她和盘摊在我眼前，如同圣书一般，等待我一页一页翻阅、检视，直至眼盲，或死亡也有了生命的那日」。
