一、意思不同

两者都可做定语或者表语，而far的意思一样，但只能用做表语，不能用做定语，如一个遥远的地方 不能说a far place只能说it is far。

三、使用范围不同
far在Hor far这样的问句中，或在类似对此问句的答句中，通常指短距离的"远"，否则总为"遥远的"这一含义。由于far是个普通词，所以使用范围较广。
