JANE EYRE shares the same signification as The Dream of Red Mansion. Both of them express feminism incisively and vividly, and also criticized the temporal society.

The Dream of Red Mansion can be regarded as an encyclopedia of China’s feudal society. The novel profoundly and pointedly criticized the regime, politics, government, marriage system and ethical relationships of the feudal society. It charged the cruelty and inhumanity of feudalism with grief and anger. The book indicated boldly and sharply the inevitable end of feudal society and its reigning classes.

She has no guts to capture her lover from the beast-like madwoman.She can do nothing but to be excluded from the paradise of love.

In Jane's eyes,the madwoman represents the will of God and the dignity of law.Although she is mad,she is still sacrosanct.

在妇女的婚姻问题上不敢从旧道德、旧观念中摆脱出来，女作家在这里又显现了她的局限性的一面。
As to women's position in marriage, the female writer did not dare to jump out of tradtional notion.This reflects the limitness of the writer's thought.

《简•爱》也有不足之处。
However,Jane Eyre internally has its deficiency.

书中过多的巧合不但有些俗套，而且也易导致小说的失真。
Excessive coincidence in the book makes the novel felt less factual.

男女主人公之间感情的表达过于夸张，不免显得有些矫情。
