Nanning was the place of Baiyue in ancient times。In the first year of Daxing in the Eastern Jin Dynasty (318), Jin Xingjun was established as the seat of county governance。
Since then, the organizational system of Nanning has a history of 1700 years。
During the Zhenguan period of the Tang Dynasty (632), Yongzhou was renamed and the governor's office of Yongzhou was established, from which Nanning was abbreviated as "Yong"。
In 1324, the first year of TAIDING in the Yuan Dynasty, Yongzhou road was renamed Nanning Road, which means tranquility in southern Xinjiang。The name of Nanning began here。
译文：南宁古属百越之地，东晋大兴元年（318年），建晋兴郡，为郡治所在地，南宁建制从此开始，至今已有1700年历史。
唐朝贞观年间（632年），更名邕州，设邕州都督府，南宁的简称“邕”由此而来。元朝泰定元年（1324年），邕州路改名为南宁路，取南疆安宁之意，南宁得名始于此。
