对于一些精彩的句子，应该熟读并模仿，在写作中如果能用上，立刻使文章增色不少。这里所说的精彩的句子，并不是指很生僻的句子，而是一些比较新颖、生动的句子。比如：The year of 1997 witnessed the return of Hong Kong tothe arms of motherland。同样的意思，如果我们写成这样：In 1997，Hong Kongreturned to the alms of motherland，文采就差很远。
(三)多用过渡词语
作文中要多运用过渡词，增加句子的逻辑性。恰当运用过渡词可以使文章结构紧凑，过渡自然，避免脱节现象。时间上的衔接词有“then、as time goesby、day after day、gradually、finally”等，表因果关系的有“as a result、because of、thanks to”等。
(四)背诵经典范文
