Akia是2002年环球推出的新人，她的首支也是唯一一支单曲《California》在Urban和跨界电台的点播率超过450万次。按理说，签约一个好的唱片公司，发行一支能受到瞩目的单曲，她的前途至少会相对平坦些。可是，当2003年暑期她的首张EP《Atruprncss》发行后，一切便戛然而止。
