The story was so well done. It's full of heart and of course set for the family. I enjoyed the atmosphere that they made for the movie. It was so ancient china and enjoyable. Each and every character had their own personality and Po was no exception.

Sorry parents and teenagers, there's no jokes directed to make us laugh. Their are cute moments that make you laugh but as stated for the kids. The thing that made me continue to watch was the amazing action sequences that just lets you sit back and stare in awe.

I recommend seeing this. It's cute, the story is entertaining, and you cheer for Po the whole time in his journey to become a Dragon Warrior.

The film stars a panda named Po (voice of Jack Black), who is so fat he can barely get out of bed. He works for his father, Mr. Ping (James Hong) in a noodle shop, which features Ping's legendary Secret Ingredient. How Ping, apparently a stork or other billed member of the avian family, fathered a panda is a mystery, not least to Po, but then the movie is filled with a wide variety of creatures who don't much seem to notice their differences.
They live in the beautiful Valley of Peace with an ancient temple towering overhead, up zillions of steps, which the pudgy Po can barely climb. But climb them he does, dragging a noodle wagon, because all the people of the valley have gathered up there to witnethe choosing of the Dragon Warrior, who will engage the dreaded Tai Lung (Ian McShane) in kung-fu combat. Five contenders have been selected, the "Furious Five": Monkey (Jackie Chan), Tigre(Angelina Jolie), Mantis (Seth Rogen), Viper (Lucy Liu) and Crane (David Cross). Tigrelooks like she might be able to do some serious damage, but the others are lethan impressive. Mantis in particular seems to weigh about an ounce, tops. All five have been trained (for nearly forever, I gather) by the wise Shifu, who with Dustin Hoffman's voice is one of the more dimensional characters in a story that doesn't give the others a lot of depth. Anyway, it's up to the temple master Oogway (Randall Duk Kim), an ancient turtle, to make the final selection, and he chooses -- yes, he chooses the hapleand pudgy Po.
The story then becomes essentially a series of action sequences, somewhat undermined by the fact that the combatants seem unable to be hurt, even if they fall from dizzying heights and crack stones open with their heads. There's an extended combat with Tai Lung on a disintegrating suspension bridge (haven't we seen that before?), hand-to-hand-to-tail combat with Po and Tai Lung, and upstaging everything, an energetic competition over a single dumpling.
"Kung Fu Panda" is not one of the great recent animated films. The story is way too predictable, and truth to tell, Po himself didn't overwhelm me with his charisma But it's elegantly drawn, the action sequences are packed with energy, and it's short enough that older viewers will be forgiving. For the kids, of course, all this stuff is much of a muchness, and here they go again.

I was very entertained by "Kung-Fu Panda". This movie ranks among Dreamworks Animation's best along with "Shrek", "Shrek II", and "Antz". The animation as a whole was excellent, including the fantasy sequences that took the form of supposed 2D animation. Even when the animation was 3D, the animation had everything down to a T from the blades of grass to roof shingles to animal's fur.

Of course, since 3D has now become the norm for animated movies, I know that 3D animation alone cannot save a movie. For instance, "Doogal", "Shrek The Third", and "Shark Tale" (which also featured the voices of Jack Black and Angelina Jolie) were big disappointments for me. Fortunately, there was enough good comedy, great action sequences, and intriguing characters to keep me entertained and to rate this movie as the best to come out of this summer so far.

For starters, Jack Black was perfect as Po the Panda. In my opinion, Black was underused in "Shark Tale", which was probably why I didn't like that movie so much. Here, he brings his great comic timing and a touch of his Tenacious D personality into this panda character. He especially works very well in the training sequences with Head Master Shifu (Dustin Hoffman). I thought it odd that his character was the only panda in a story set in China, but I won't get too picky.

The actors who played the Furious Five were also well cast. Angelina Jolie was a natural to play Tigress, who is probably the first truly strong female character in animation history who also isn't involved in a love story subplot of a film. I actually found myself relieved that they left such a subplot out and just concentrated on a great story.

If I have one complaint against the movie, it's that the other four fighters weren't as focused on as they should have been. Yes, there's only so much you can fit into a 90 minute movie, but the snake (Lucy Liu), crane (David Cross), praying mantis (Seth Rogen), and monkey (Jackie Chan) all individually made such intriguing characters. Indeed, this is one of the few animated movies I've seen that merits a sequel, and I hope that all four of them are focused on in that other movie should it come along.

Otherwise, that's my only complaint against the movie. It just worked so well otherwise. Other than the mostly American voice-overs, the movie stayed true to a traditional Kung Fu movie by the likes of Bruce Lee and Sonny Chiba, and also had elements of spaghetti westerns and other movies such as "Star Wars". None of that would have been complete with a great Darth Vader-esquire villain like leopard Tai Ling (played by lesser known actor Ian McShane), and an even better Yoda-esquire mentor like tortoise Ancient Master Oogway (Randall Duk Kim). This is an altogether incredible movie that I personally can't wait to purchase on DVD. I may even see it again in theaters, and there are few movies that make me want to do that.

　　对于动画制作上，我是外行，就不多赘言了，仅从动画片里的一些道理上来说说。
　　
　　这部动画片依旧承载了小人物为主角、成为英雄的美式电影基调，在表现手法上的元素很中国化，或者说是很东方化。功夫是中国元素的，而很多出自乌龟话语的道理很接近禅，或者说根本就是禅。禅这样的佛学概念，应该说是东方的，不仅仅是中国的。
　　
　　道理一：每个人都有很强的潜力，只是缺乏适当的方法来把潜力激发出来。
　　
　　熊猫同学在学武的过程中那么笨拙，并不是他没有潜质，直到乌龟仙逝后，浣熊师傅才发现应该通过食物来激发出熊猫的潜力，而不是以前教那几个徒弟的办法，终于使熊猫练成了高超的功夫。
　　
　　其实现实中也是如此，任何人都具有难以查知的潜力，而我们只是缺乏适当的方法来发现和激发出潜力来。折射到教育上，明显把国内长年来教育的失误给指了出来。我们国内的学校教育就是那种统一教导的，在升学、上好学校、考试成绩第一等等这些前提之下，也就不会有太多的可能去发现、发掘出不同学生的不同潜质。
　　
　　道理二：只有抛却成见，才能有新的发现。
　　
　　杯茶禅理说的也正是这个道理。人假如不能放下成见去接受新的概念，那么往往会因为成见而失去一些新的发现。如电影中，浣熊师傅在一贯的成见中，根本就无视熊猫，也就谈不上去发现熊猫的能量了。而没有熊猫的话，那么整个和平谷将会不复存在。
　　
　　坚持一贯的成见不一定是好事，抛开成见的人常能有所突破。譬如庞涓之马陵道就是因为坚持“齐兵羸弱”的成见，而赵武灵王抛开成见的“胡服改制”则使赵国的国力强盛起来。前人的例子举不胜举，不须赘言。可惜是我们现在的国人中，仍然有不屑学习外国有利于我们的东西的人，他们一味地去抵制，实在是有些目光短浅。
　　
　　道理三：有了足够的实力，需要做的就是相信自己。
　　
　　没有实力就妄自相信自己是最好的，那就是过度自负和夜郎自大。有了足够的实力，所欠缺的只是信心而已。这个时候，就应该相信自己。《神龙秘籍》只是如同镜子一样的空白卷轴，并不是任何人看了这个卷轴就能够成为绝顶高手，只有具备了足够的实力，能够继承这个卷轴的人才有可能成为绝顶高手。
　　
　　这里还暗含着另外的一层意思，实力不是唯一条件，更重要的是一颗仁心。所谓“仁者无敌”，只追求个人的强悍，最多也只是成为一个强者。只有勇敢站出来保护自己珍惜的人和地方的人，才能够成为真正的英雄！这一点在《火影忍者》的很多情节中也阐述过。

　　对于《功夫熊猫》中其他五个高手不能战胜恶豹，而原来被他们轻松打败的熊猫却能的这个问题。我想，应该是象周星驰的《功夫》那样，熊猫本身就具有强大的潜力，只是没有触发条件而已。一旦触发了，就是无敌的那种。否则，怎么能通过几天的修炼就超过了修炼了那么多年的六大高手呢？另外，也可能是浣熊师傅后来心灰意冷，对那五个徒弟的教导没达到以前的程度。
　　
　　或许《功夫熊猫》中还想阐述“无的境界是最高的境界”，这样一层含义。无字的秘籍、没有任何佐料的面条都是熊猫接触到的最高境界的东西。我想，在某些时候，返璞归真的这种“无”，确实是一种最高的境界吧。就象古诗“清水出芙蓉，天然去雕饰”——褪尽铅华之后的美才是真正的美。
　　
　　乌龟老师傅说的“世上没有绝对的巧合”很值得品味。这句话的深刻含义，以我的浅薄是解释不来的。但能够从一些经历和见闻中体会得到。或许这就是所谓的“缘”，这种看不到的东西在牵引着发生巧合的双方在某个时间某个地点相遇。
