Value of Knowledge
In the Information Age, public awareness of the value of knowledge critically affects the economic growth of a nation. The schematic diagram clearly shows how the value of knowledge evolved in China in the past 50 years.
The schematic diagram mainly consists of three parts. From 1950 to 1966, the curve was roughly a straight line slightly above zero, showing that China was a poorly-educated nation then. In 1966, the curve drastically dropped below zero, moving down hopelessly in the next 11 years. This period coincided with the "Culture Revolution". Our society went mad then, books were burned, schools were closed and all kinds of academic activities were banned. Knowledge inflicted its masters nothing but disasters. Life was a nightmare for Chinese intellectuals, including famous scholars as well as common people who received higher education or whose profession had anything to do with knowledge. It was a time when ignorance was a virtue and knowledge was a crime. People tried desperately to be away from knowledge. As a result, China lagged farther behind the rapid progressing world. This was the darkest time in the history of New China. The curve returned to its original non-zero position around 1978 and moved up but slowly. From 1984 on, it has been shooting up. The open-up policy encourages people to study and to channel their knowledge to the market economy. Millions of Chinese are bettering off by means of their knowledge and more Chinese enjoy the fruits of knowledge and say goodbye for good to poverty that haunted them for generations.
As our world is rapidly advancing towards the Information Age, increasing number of people realize that knowledge is power and creativity is everything. Only when China becomes a better educated nation, can China be a great nation with international prestige.

First of all, more and more people go to visit the museum, which is a burden to the working staff. Besides, too many visitors can breathe out more carbon dioxide, which is harmful to the works and cultural relics. Thirdly, without the entrance fee, most museums find it difficult to afford all the necessary workers. They choose to lay off some of them, which results in bad management.
Though that the museums charge people nothing is good for visitors, we can understand the difficulties museums will meet with. So instead of visiting the museums for free, we can afford to pay proper money, which can help protect the cultural relics, make the museums run normally as well as improve the environment.
Since the implementation of the policy, the number of people going to the museums has come to a big hit especially in big city and during the holidays. There is no doubt that people can get much information they need in museums, but so many people have caused a hard burden for protection on works in museums. For instance, many paintings get damaged because some children touch them and there are not enough guards to keep watching them. Some people just want to find a place to keep out the sunshine in summer so they go to museums, which also makes the museum so crowded, and many people who want to admire the arts complain that so many people do interrupt them.
Finally, some of the collections of a famous museum are second to no other celebrated resort locale. They are another kind of wonder on the earth, which demonstrate the superlative ingenuity and exorbitant crafts of human being. Few can hold there extolment to himself while they are visiting the Vatican Museum and dwarfed by the masterpieces of the Renaissance genius, namely, Rafael and Michelangelo, who had both devoted ten years of their golden era to the museum and sprinkled their talent in the countless paintings and statuary which have now been a part of the museum itself.

With the development of society, people’s demand and interest in art or science has kept increasing. So in their spare time, a great number of people choose to go to museum. Of course it is a good place to relax and learn something.
To let more people can enjoy such places and raise the cultural and ethical standards of the general public, now lots of museums are free of charge. It is definitely an exciting news for most general people but not for all.

My Viewpoint on Museums' Free Admission
As the people's demands for art increase,more and more museums are free of charge to the public nowadays,which has become a big topic among the people.Some people suppose that museums should be free for the public.The causes are as follow.First,usually,museums are built with the money from the taxpayers.and they should in turn serve these taxpayers.Second,a free admission can let more people have the opportunities to visit the museums.Hower,some people hold a view that museums' entrance fee should not be free,because that would lead to some problems,one of which is that too many people would go to the musems,and people's crowding in the museums would damage the works,the relics and the surroundings of the museums and cut down the level of the service.Most importantly,the entrance fee is a big part of the money that maintains the museums' normal working.
As far as I am concerned,I think that museums' being open to the pulic has advantages over its disadvantages.Moreover,it is a world trend.So they're supposed to serve the people for free.
