一、词义不一样
1、kind of 表示有点儿的意思，后面加形容词。
比如：kind of nervous 有点儿紧张
2、kinds of 表示多种多样的，后面加名词。
比如：kinds of apples 意为各种各样的苹果

二、用法不一样
1、kind of 用作主语时，其谓语动词用单数形式。当kind与of连用作前置定语时，后面的名词通常用单数形式。
2、kinds of 用作主语时，其谓语动词用复数形式，与of后名词的数无关。kinds of后面如为可数名词，单数和复数均可。
三、侧重点不一样
kind of 侧重指“品质、性质”。
kinds of 表示各种各样的。
