建议暑假的时候看，我四级也没过，看一本原版的欧美小说，要1个星期。
主要是欧美小说单词的体系和国内教科书单词体系不同，你即使英语过了专八，你看国外的童话还是有一些单词不认识。并不是你的词汇量小，只是你的词汇量不适合看小说，国内的教科书英语单词比较适合看杂志，我现在2天可以看完一本the economist，但是看小说就要一个星期左右。小说生词多，前期很吃力，但是只要渡过前期，你会发现它的生词，比如动词，形容词，名词，全部加起来不会超过300个。
原版小说难度排名 冰与火之歌>哈利波特>纳尼亚传奇>安徒生童话
看原版小说，对毅力要求很高，能显著提升英语实际阅读能力，但是对四六级帮助不大，对考研帮助也不大。如果只是为了提高英语成绩，不建议看英文原版。我是因为没有看中文版国外小说的习惯，所以一直看原版小说。
