It is said that Nian is a small animal with a head of ten feet long, eyes like copper bells, coming and going like the wind, and the sound of "Nian" is emitted when it calls, so it is called Nian animal.
Over time, people gradually found that Nian beast was afraid of three things, namely red, fire and loud noise; so later people would gather together on New Year's Eve when the animal would come, stick red paper (later gradually changed to peach stickers or red couplets), hang red lanterns, set off firecrackers and so on, in order to drive away Nian beast.
When the animals were driven away, people would always say happily to each other, "Another year has passed." Slowly, there is the saying of New Year's Day, and thus the custom of New Year's Day appears.

据说年兽头大身小，身长十数尺，眼若铜铃，来去如风；嗷叫时发出“年~”的声音，故名年兽。
时日一久，人们渐渐发现年兽害怕三样东西，即红色、火光和巨大的响声；于是后来的人们在除夕年兽将要到来的时候就会聚到一起，贴红纸（后来逐渐改为贴桃符或贴红对联），挂红灯笼，放鞭炮等等，目的就是为了赶走年兽。
当年兽被赶走以后，人们总是会高兴地互道：“又熬过一个年了。”慢慢的就有了过年的说法，也由此出现过年的习俗了。
I have lots of birthday presents，such as：toy bear，toy cat，machinely cat，cute doll，and so on。But my favourite birthday present is the cute doll。
The cute doll is my ten years old birthday present。It is my mother gave me。I like it very much，it has tow big eyes，little mouth and brown curt hair。It has red dress。It is very cute，If you shake it by the hands，It will sings as it walks along。When I am not happy，I always hug it and talk to it。The doll is not only a toy，but also my good friend。
This is my favourite birthday present，I love it！
Women’s Day is coming. What present will I buy for my mother? It is often windy in spring. Will I buy her a handkerchief ? No, mother has several handkerchiefs. Will I buy her a bag? Yes, I will buy a beautiful bag for my mother. Mother usually go shopping with a paper bag. She needs a bag.
Thinking of this I came into a shop. I asked the shop keeper if they have some bags for middle aged woman. The shop keeper showed one to me. But when she told me the price, I was surprised. It was more than three hundred yuan. Too expensive! I hadn’t enough money. I came out of the shop. What will I give my mother? I think hard. Suddenly, I had an idea. Mother gets up early and cook meals for me every day. Why don’t I cook a delicious meal for her? Then I got home and started to cook. I tried my best to cook it well. When my mother got home, supper was ready, she was very surprised, because she knew I had never cooked before. She was very happy . She said this is the best present for her.
