1、先见之明是智慧
古人说“人无远虑,必有近忧”,不论做人还是做事,眼光要长远,要有预见性。聪明人看得懂,精明人看得准,高明人看得远。没有远见的人只能看到眼前,而有远见的人会看到将来可能存在的机会并积极做好准备,要知道机会总是留给有准备的人。

2、自知之明是修养

做人要有自知之明,不要把自己看得太低,也别高估自己。生活中高估自己的人比比皆是,他们认为别人的成功只不过是碰到了好的机遇或是得到了伯乐的赏识,要知道不论是运气还是赏识都需要实力。
做人有自知之明,做事才能量力而行。陈寿在《三国志》中用一句话概括诸葛亮领兵北伐,“然连年动众,未能成功,盖应变将略,非其所长欤”。北伐失利虽不能归咎于诸葛亮一人,但陈寿认为诸葛亮对此有很大责任。
据《汉晋春秋》记载,诸葛亮也曾说“大军在祁山、箕谷,皆多於贼,而不能破贼为贼所破者,则此病不在兵少也,在一人耳”。人各有所长,各有所短。只有争取了解自己,才能扬长避短,才能对自己的人生进行正确定位。正如韩信对刘邦所言,“陛下不能将兵,而善将将”。
3、知人之明是成熟
樊迟问孔子“什么是仁”?孔子说:“爱人”。樊迟又问“什么是智”?孔子说:“知人”。知人是一门高深的学问,苏轼曾说“欲立非常之功者,必有知人之明”,在日常生活中,知人之明有助于帮助我们在茫茫人潮中找到心灵相契的朋友。
路遥知马力,日久见人心。要准确了解一个人,应该从细节、小处入手,时间会告诉你谁是你真正可以信赖的人。知人之明是一种成熟,是经验的积累。有知人之明的人不会仅凭别人的一面之词、自己的一面之缘就对他人下判断。
