adolescent和teenager区别
具体如下：
youth现在几乎专指男青年，尤指10多岁到20多一点的男青年，但作为集合名时间男女青年都可指。
eenager主要指13岁到19岁之间的青少年，强调这个年龄段的人的本身特点。
adolescent比teenager正式，侧重年龄。
juvenile指青少年，系法律上的常用词。
语法：
youth的基本意思是“青少年时期”，也可指“青春”“活力”“朝气”“血气”，是不可数名词，作主语时，谓语动词只能用单数形式。
youth还可作“青年人”解，指某个地区、国家或特定时期男女青年的总称，是集合名词，通常用作单数形式，其前常有定冠词the修饰，其后多与介词of连用，作主语时，谓语动词通常用复数形式，有时也用单数形式。
youth也可作“青年男子，小伙子”解，是可数名词。
Teenager是指16--18岁以下的
Adolescent是指成年人 18岁以上
1、含义不同
teenager：(13至19岁之间的)青少年。
adolescent：青少年的，青春期的，未成熟的。
2、词性不同
teenager：主要作名词。
例句：As a teenager he attended Tulse Hill Senior High School.
十几岁时，他上了塔尔斯山高中。
adolescent：既作名词，又作形容词。
例句：He led the adolescent side of the study.
他领导了青少年方面的研究。
Parents worry about the effect of music on their adolescent's behavior.
父母担心音乐对青春期孩子的行为所产生的影响。
3、强调的特点不同
teenager：强调该年龄段群体(13至19岁之间的青少年)的自身特点。
例句：Their band is made up of three cool teenagers.
他们的乐队由3个帅气的少年组成。
adolescent：强调不成熟、叛逆等特点，无比较级。
例句：His remarks about the matter struck me as being a bit adolescent.
他对此事的意见让我觉得有点幼稚。
adolescent是经历“青春期”的人，而不一定是具体几岁，因为青春期的开始因人而异，可以从14或甚至11开始（取决于性别）；而teenager“青少年”是13至19岁的人，因为英语中13-19的英文结尾都是teen。
因此这两个词其实属于两个不同的类别。
一个是十几岁的青少年13-19，比较有稚气，而adolescent呢是16七八啦接近成年或者成年了，比较像adult。
前面是形容词，后面那个是名词。

teenager，主要指13岁到19岁之间的青少年，强调这个年龄段的人的本身特点。
adolescent，比teenager正式，侧重年龄。adolescent的意思是“青春期的，青少年的”，强调由于生长迅速而引起的未成熟性或由于生理变化而引起的精神、情感的不稳定性，含有很强的未成熟的意味；在教育学上指小学毕业至高中毕业；在法律上则特指“出现第二性征到法定年龄间的”。
2、用法不同
teenager，主要用作名词。
adolescent，用作形容词、名词，在句中多用作定语，偶尔可用作表语。作“青春期的”“青少年的”解时不用于比较等级；口语中作“不成熟的；孩子气的；幼稚的”解时可用于比较等级。
3、读音不同
teenager，读音为英 ['tiːneɪdʒə(r)]，美 ['tiːneɪdʒər]。
adolescent，读音为英 [ˌædə'lesnt] ，美 [ˌædə'lesnt]。
