This design of "water drops" entering into the lake indicates human longing for a return to nature.

The use of fiber-optic communication links and intelligent management systems reveals substantance behind the "High-tech Olympics" slogan. The designer also pays attention to the special needs of the audience, players and referees, which embodies the idea of a "People's Olympics".

这种独创性的“水上中心”以及其利用天然湖水来降温的节能措施意味着对“绿色奥运”的期望；光纤通信线路和智能管理系统也显示出对于“科技奥运”这一理念的支持；而设计者同样特别关注到观众、运动员、以及裁判员的需求，这也正是拥护了“人文奥运”这一理念。
The Beijing Olympics are rapidly approaching and 11 million Tianjin people are preparing for it in every way. I am deeply moved by people's ardor in the preparation, which makes me plunge into the process unconsciously. I believe my students will be able to serve the Olympics as volunteers.
