the number of和the number of的区别是什么？
the number of是一名词短语，意为“……的数目”。
the numbers of是前者的复数的形式。
两者区别：
1、意思上不同。the number of表示“……的数量”；the numbers of 表示"为……的总数"。
2、中心词不同。the number of+名词做主语时中心词是number，the numbers of+名词做主语时中心词是名词。
