I was born in a small village, so that my childhood mostly spent in countryside. Althought the condistions were not so good, my childhood was happy and interesting. At that time, we didn't have much money to buy toies. Therefore, almost all of my toies were made by myselfe or my mates. Sometimes, my father would make some toies for me. Besides, because my parents were busy with their farmwork, I usually helped them do some work after school, especially the housework. I wanted to relieve some burden of them. I was happy in my childhood. Even now, I usually recall the beautiful memories of my childhood.

The sixth of August was my mother’s birthday. My father and I wanted to give her surprising birthday presents. On their mothers’ birthday, I know some of my classmates are going to help their mothers with housework; others are going to the shop and buy some flowers for their mothers.
In the morning, my father and I went shopping and bought a very nice cake. Then we went to the market and bought some food. When we got home, my father cooked some nice food in the kitchen. I went to my room to make a birthday card. I wanted to say to my mother that I loved her very much. Then I wrote in the card, “I love you, my dear mother!” I put it on her pillow, then we cleaned the room. We felt very tired, but we were very happy.
My mother got home. We said, “Happy Birthday!” My mother smiled. We had our supper together. My mother said, “Thank you, my daughter!”
How happy we were!

My Best Friend
我最好的朋友
My best friend is one of myclassmates. Her name isMary. Every day, we go to school together and go back home together. We often help each other and learn from each other in study.
我最好的朋友是我的一个同班同学，她的名字叫玛丽。我们每天一起上学，一起回家。我们经常互相帮助，并向对方学习。
We have the samehobby-collectingstamps. She has many nice stamps. She is very proud of them. Sometimes she gives some of them to me. I think she is a very good girl. We will be good friends forever.
我们有着相同的爱好——集邮。她有很多漂亮的邮票，并为此十分自豪。有时，她会把其中的一些邮票给我。我认为她是个非常好的女孩。我们会成为永远的朋友。

Friends are very important to us in our life. Everyone needs some good friends. A life without a friend is like one without sun.
Do you want to know my best friend? We met in the first year of primary school. She is a girl with big black eyes. She is also smart and kind. Once our school had a 400-meter-running test. My PE was not very good. I wanted to give up. She tried her best to help me and practiced with me, and I passed the test. We studied and played together all the time until we finished school.
Now we both have new friends, yet I think we will remember each other forever.
