好好看一下被动语态和系动词的用法,以及几个几个基本的时态,相信你会学好的
解释：
1. 做状语的非谓语动词judge所表示的动作，和主句动作was meant to...是同时发生的，即“它很搞笑的状态和判断这个动作在时间上是同时存在的”，而不是“先判断，然后它才是搞笑的”。
由此排除B，它是现在分词juding的完成形式，表明judge动作发生在主句谓语动作was meant to...之前。
2. D使用了介宾短语，即having juded from...视为动名词结构，after视为介词。
此时表明it和judge之间为主动关系，不符合句意，应该是“它被从....判断”；
二则同样表明judge发生在was meant to...之前，错误。
3. judging from/by...是一个固定搭配，意思是“从/由....来判断”。
如果它做句子状语，则无须考虑句子主语和judge的主动/被动关系，直接使用judging from/by...即可，而不能说句子主语和judge之间是被动关系，而去使用其过去分词judged.
这是一个特殊现象，楼主需要记住。
再如：Judging from his clothes, he was very poor.
从他的衣着来判断，他非常穷。
此时千万不能因为句子主语he和judge之间为被动关系，而使用judged from....做状语。
跟其他的分词作状语不同，一般分词作状语时，分词的逻辑主语必须和主句的逻辑主语一致，但这个不同，因为，judging from就是一个固定搭配，表示从。。。判断， 不管主句的主语是什么。
此为非谓语里的独立主格结构，分词在开头作状语。这是固定用法，没有原因啊，只能死记，解释为“从。。。来判断”。再比如generally speaking,taking...into consideration,seeing,supposing,assuming,givn,probided that,compared with。建议你还是去找本语法书看看，或问老师，这个还是有些复杂的。
从Tom大笑着告诉(我们)这件事的方式能看出来，这本应是很搞笑的。

翻译得比较口语化，judging by和judging from是固定搭配，没有理由，意思是“从...来判断”，
