语法学习是英语学习中重要的一环。平时我们无论讲英语还是进行英语练习或考试，都与英语语法有关。掌握好语法关键在于平时积累，多观察、多分析、多记忆。每学一个新的语法项目，可以做一些有针对性的练习，通过强化训练，最终达到巩固提高的目的。在语法的学习中有这样一个说法：“学英语，抓语法，抓住动词学到家。”英词动词在句子中主要是作谓语，又有时态、语态、语气等多种变化，这些变化中还附带有很多的助动词，另外还有非谓语动词形式(不定式、动名词和分词)。因此，英语动词的变化是英语学习中的一个最大难点。另外，近义词(组)的辨析、习惯用法和句型结构，也都是应当总结一些规律的。例如在学习句型结构中的从句时，搞清楚每个连词的基本用法是其关键。像that /what这两个词，应该把它们作为从句引导词的区别加以归纳。类似还有whether/if等的用法比较。
因此，在学习语法时，一定要善于总结和对比，找出规律性的东西来，这样学起来就会取得事半功倍的效果。同时还要注意多背有语法点的例句，这样以后看到类似的句子就可触类旁通，运用自如。
阅读理解在英语的考察中所占的比例很大。其实英语的阅读理解能力其实还是和词汇、语法等联系的，而这又是和课本中的基本知识联系在一起的。在一篇文章中，有几个不认识的单词是很正常的，这本身就是阅读理解考察你理解贯通能力的一个标准，所以也不要太在意。在阅读理解中，关键是文章的大致方向绝对不能认知错误，其次才是细节问题。当然这并不是说细节不重要，在阅读理解中，细节问题肯定是要考的，所以在阅读中，小细节一定要注意，也可以先看题目后做题，有目的地去找答案，有时在后面的题目中也会先给你一个提示，在阅读时就可以更快捷更准确了。

对于考试中的英语写作，基本要求是句子可以简单一点，但是绝对不能有明显的语法错误，最好能用到几个出现频率较低的单词或词组，这对提高英语作文得分是很重要的。中国有个说法叫做“熟读唐诗三百首，不会写诗也会诹”，其实英语学习也是如此，通过背诵可以在不知不觉中学习作者的文风、熟练地掌握很多修辞的应用，从而提高我们的英文写作能力，所以背诵好的英语文章是一种很好的提高英语写作水平的方法。
