~ 1. flopped adj. 搞砸了,失败了 = botched; flip your lid发火,气得丧失自制力,lid - eyelid;

2. gum up 搞乱,把事情搞砸;使出毛病;spoil sth, destroy sth

3. bat your eyes/eyelashes 眉目传情,挤眉弄眼

- bat a thousand 非常成功,大获全胜

- go to bat for sb 帮助/支持某人;辩护

- go to bat against 作出不利于...的证词

- let rip at sb 激动地说,忘乎所以的说 eg: When she gets angry with her boyfriend, she really lets rip at him.

- the ~ bug 着迷,热衷;the travel bug 旅游狂热;She was never interested in fitness before but now she’s been bitten by the bug. 他以前从不在乎健身,但现在却着迷了。
