What does your father do?（你父亲是做什么的?）英语中,正规的疑问句要以助动词（没有中文意义的词）（以下都以do为例）为标志（忽略口语句型O(∩_∩)O~）,而助动词都要放置在句子的主语前面.同时,助动词也把句子的时态（do,did）和语态（do,does）套到自己头上来,因而可以这个人为,助动词do（does、did）后面要跟动词原形.
所以,你看到这个句子是问句,且有实义动词do（“做”）,那就要加上does.要改成同义句可以改成“What is your father?”（你父亲是什么职业?）或“What is your father's job?”（你父亲的工作是什么?）
