Tuly:Hello, everybody. This is Tuly, we are very honored to invite Ariel here today, we would like to ask Ariel some questions.
Ariel: Whenever I go to any place where there's Toastmasters or not Toastmasters, I always love the people, because I think people always make the environment,the city and the place beautiful, and people are one of the reasons why we come back to a place that I think so far I've just been in Zhongshan for a few hours. And I've already received very warm reception and very warm love from the Zhongshan people, I'm very happy about that.

Ariel: I read Michael, my Laoxiang from Zhuhai invited me and it was just an invitation for anniversary. And because you know I love going around. And also service is one of the things that we should do in Toastmasters. And for me, the more I teach, the more I train, the more I will learn about how to enhance myself.

In Toastmasters, we do everything, we learn everything by doing it, that not by the books, not by someone just teaching you. We learn how to be a president, an officer, a speaker of workshop, trainer by doing it. You keep on learning and people here in the south say thank you, thank you Ariel for coming all the way here. But I also say thank you because you're giving me a chance to practice and be better at what I'm doing.
在头马，我们什么都去做，所有的一切都是通过行动来学习到的，而只是通过书本，也不是只通过别人来教你。如何做一个主席，如何做一个官员，如何做一个演讲者，如何做一个培训师，都需要我们付出行动来学习到。当你不断学习，来到这里，南方人说谢谢你，谢谢Ariel一路走来。但我也要说谢谢你，因为你给了我一个锻炼的机会，让我可以做得更好。
Ariel: Just like Jim Rohn , one of the greatest motivational speakers. Jim Rohn was a farmer who became a super rich guy because of motivational speaking. And he was saying in one of his motivational speeches“I've done this training thousands of times, but if I have an event tomorrow, or I have a speaking engagement ,but I don't practice now, it means I'm arrogant. ”
就像吉米·罗恩，最伟大的励志演说家之一。吉米·罗恩是一个农民，他因为励志演讲而成为一个超级富翁。他在一次励志演讲中说到“我做过成千上万次这样的训练，但是如果我明天有一个活动，或者我有一个演讲的预约，而我现在却不练习，这就意味着我很自大。”
So for someone like Jim Rohn to say, we need to practice everything that makes us feel humble. Going back to our core values, one of our core values is excellence, we should not do it 马马虎虎, we should always do something to the best of our ability. Maybe not perfect, but excellence should be outstanding.

Ariel: Actually, I have a suggestion for the members who want to join the contest and for the members who don't want to join the contest. And my suggestion is to join the contest, because contest is about testing yourself, pushing yourself to the limits.

Everyone will say, “oh, I'm not ready yet, I'm afraid”. We're all afraid,I still remember the first time that I joined the contest, I didn't know anything about Toastmasters，I was a few months old in Toastmasters, and my mentor said,“Go”. The first time when I became president, I didn't know anything about being the president, so my mentors said “Go”.
每个人都会说:“哦，我还没准备好，我害怕。” 我们都害怕，我还记得我第一次参加比赛的时候，我对Toastmasters一无所知，那时候我参加头马才几个月，我的导师说，“去参加吧”。在我第一次当上俱乐部主席时，我对如何做主席一无所知，我的导师说，“去竞选吧”。
You know, when your master says jump, don’t ask why ? you should ask how high? When your mentors says something, do it because your mentors are the people who know what will happen, who know why they need to motivate you, and you just have to trust them and believe in them. And if you want to be like your mentors, you have to follow them，because sometimes they see something in you that you don't know yet, right? So if you feel afraid, if you feel fearful, come to my workshop tonight at 7:00 PM.

Ariel: Speaking of fear，of being afraid, you said that I'm an experienced speaker and trainer, you believe it or not, every time I'm always nervous and afraid, maybe you don't believe me, but that's true. Even if I speak in front of hundreds of people, I go back to my club in front of twenty people with a new speech or an old speech,I'm still nervous. And I have two very good reasons why you should be nervous, why it's okay to be nervous, but I will not tell you now. I will tell you later at 7:30 pm.
