No.Muscovite Deposit in Nedong County（）
The No.602 muscovite deposit is located near the snow line on the north-west of the Yasang snow mountains in the Yadui Village，Nedong County，about 40 km to the south of the Zetang Township.There is a highway linking the deposit with the village.
In 1970 while working in the Yelonggang area the Zangnan reconnaissance subparty of the No.2 Geological Party under the TBG，based on the report of the No.602 Station troops，inspected the locality and identified it as“a promis-ing muscovite deposit worthwhile for further prospecting”.The deposit was thus named the No.602 deposit.
In 1971 the Zangnan reconnaissance subparty performed surface survey and assessment.They compiled the 1∶2000 topographic-geological sketch map，operated surface working，studied carefully the stratigraphy and litholo-gy of the deposit，and collected 18 dressing samples.
The mica-hosting granite pegmatite occurs at the axis of an anticline.It intruded along the bedding or schistosity into the garnet two-mica schists.Granite pegmatites are widely distributed，extending over 2 km at a width of 500 m and more，but mostly covered by the Quaternary glacial deposits and detritus.Pegmatization commonly occurred but the mineralization differs greatly in degree.There are two types of mineralized pegmatites in the de-posit.One is dominated by muscovite with thin sheet-like mica nested in the pegmatite.The other type has minor muscovite；in contrast，it consists pre-dominantly of beryl，black tourmaline and smoke rock crystals.The muscovite has many exterior natural defects and the outline area is generally 10-20 square centimeters，the maximum reaching 150 square centimeters，classified largely into medium and low grade.Technological dressing shows that the ores can satisfy the industrial quality standard in terms of electrical performance but the heat resistance is quite low.Based on the outcrops the orebodies were delineat-ed and a prospective reserve of medium-size deposit was obtained.
Like the Yelonggang muscovite deposit，this deposit was also mined by lo-cal people in the 1970s with certain economic returns.But the backward min-ing techniques had brought about significant wastes of mineral resources.
