other others another the other的区别主要有以下几方面：
一、含义不同
other的含义是：另外；其他；(指两个人或事物中的第二个)那个，另一个；其余的，另外的。others的含义是：其他人员。another的含义是：又一；再一；另一(事物或人)；另一；不同的；类似的。the other的含义是：他者；另一个；其他。
二、侧重点不同
1、other其他的，不是指剩下部分的全部， 相当于other+复数名词。
2、the other特制在一定范围内的其余所有的人或物。
3、others 所指的其他人并非其他所有的人，指其他部分的全部，相当于other+复数名词。
4、another 指三者或三者以上的人或物。
三、用法不同
nother表示“别的，其它的”,它不能单独使用，后面必须要接可数名词的复数形式。
the other多指“两者中的另一个”，也可以指三者及以上中剩下的最后一个。可以独立使用，也可以在后面接上名词。
others表复数，泛指“别人；别的东西”，它就相当于other+名词复数，因此它的后面不能再接名词。如果句中前面出现了some，后面通常就会用others，即构成“Some…others…”的结构， 这时也可以翻译成“有的……有的……”。
another表三者及以上中的“再一，另一”个，后接单数名词。这个单词本来就是“an other”两个单词的连写，所以它的前面不可能再用上冠词an.
