a number of 和 the number of 有什么区别

举例说明：食品和药品行业管理中提到的批号应该是Batch，因为食品和药品安全主要取决于原料和生产过程。同一批生产出的产品通常需要通过多次的包装后作为成品发运。每一批包装的可以用Lot来管理，但是一旦出现质量问题，就要把使用相同原料和同一次生产的产品全部召回，这就是同一个Batch。
a number of+名词复数‘ 许多’，作主语时谓语动词用复数the number of +名词复数‘……的数量’，作主语时谓语动词用单数，如
A number of students in our class are from the countryside.
The number of the stucents in my school is about 1000.
a number of表示“若干，一些”相当于some，它的谓语动词为复数，the number of"...的数"，谓语动词为单数。举个例子：
There are a number of students in the classroom.The number of them is 12.
教室里有些学生。他们的人数是12个.
a number of 是说一些 the number of 是什么的数量 如 a number of students 是说有些学生 the number
of student is 40 是说学生的数目是40
The number of表示什么什么的数量。
