Liu Xiang is my faviourt player. He is one of the most famous players in the world.In 2002 he won his first internation 110m hurdels event in Switaerland and in the same year, a gold medal at the Asia Games in Korea. In 2004, Liu Xiang won the first Olympic gold medeal in the same event for China in Athens, Greece. He is a heor in my heart.

In 2002, Liu launched his career in fine style by winning the first IAAF Grand Prix in Lausanne with a world youth and Asian record time of 13.12 seconds in the 110 metres hurdles.
He has since made the finals at the IAAF World Championships in Athletics and IAAF World Indoor Championships in Athletics (twice); two of the three cases has seen American hurdling great Allen Johnson take the major prize, but in the last in May at Osaka, Liu managed to beat Johnson with an Asian-record time of 13.06 seconds.
Still young, Liu has improved steadily, and won a gold medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics in the 110 meters hurdles event. In the final, he equaled the world record of 12.91 seconds held since 1993 by Colin Jackson of Wales. This is the first time an athlete of non-African descent has dipped under 13 seconds for the 110 meter hurdles.

The year before last year,Liu Xiang became the champion of male 110m hurdles (跨栏) at 2004 Olympic Games in Athens (雅典) .After that he became very very famous in the world. Almost all the Chinese are proud of him.
Liu Xiang is tall and young. He is always energetic(有活力的). He runs very fast. He likes playing computer games and going to sing karaoke when he is free. He lives in Shanghai with his parents. A brief introduction of Liu Xiang
Liu Xiang (born July 13, 1983) is a Chinese hurdling athlete and Olympic gold medalist who holds the current world record in the 110 metres hurdles with a time of 12.88 seconds.
In 2002, Liu launched his professional career by winning his first IAAF Grand Prix in Lausanne with a World Junior and Asian record time of 13.12 seconds (+1.6 m/s tail wind) in the 110 metres hurdles. Afterward, Liu chased down one of his heroes Allen Johnson, then the world number 1 sprint hurdler, for an autograph. When interviewed about the Athens Olympic Games two years later, Liu said he would be satisfied if he qualified for the finals.
Liu is also the world junior indoor record holder in the 60m Hurdles with a time of 7.55s. While enroute to a longer race Liu also set the world junior indoor record in the 50m Hurdles with a time of 6.52s. These records are not officially recognized by the IAAF.
