　　《飞鸟集》的译者郑振铎在译完泰戈尔的这部散文诗集后，曾深情地称它“包涵着深邃的大道理”，并形象地指出，泰戈尔的这部散文诗集“像山坡草地上的一丛丛的野花，在早晨的太阳光下，纷纷地伸出头来。随你喜爱什么吧，那颜色和香味是多种多样的。”

　　这就是泰戈尔诗歌的魅力，它告诉了你如何去做生活的强者，去对待人生中所遇到的种种困难。不是这样吗？你看，在对待爱情问题上，泰戈尔不也是这样告诫你吗？“不要因为峭壁是高的，而让你的爱情坐在峭壁上。”对待爱情，必须是忠贞的，只有双方用爱来交换，才会获得真正的爱情。如果玩弄爱情，人为地去制造种种的爱情悬念，那势必是让爱情悬在峭壁之上，随时都有粉身碎骨的可能。泰戈尔认为，美丽的爱情是会给人生增添光辉的。因此，从人生的意义上来追求美好的爱情，不就能使每个人的人生更富有乐趣么？相反，把追求爱情当做是享受，玩弄人生，那就必然是像峭壁上追逐爱情一样，后果是不堪设想的。
　　泰戈尔不仅是这样告诫人们如何对待人生，而且也通过对一些无名小卒、无名花朵的礼赞，来倡导一种为创造美好生活而默默献身的人生精神。像那无名的花朵，比起萧萧的树叶来，它没有那暴风雨般的声响，而是以它质朴、华丽的沉默，显示出内在的美，装点着大千世界，给人们带来芬芳。人们不会因为那富丽堂皇的牡丹和绚丽多彩的菊花，而去卑视无名的小花。小花自有小花的性格，小花自有小花的芬芳，她纯洁、简朴、沉
