We have four seasons in a year. I can do many interesting things in each season. In spring, the weather is cool and wind, I can fly kites when it’s wind. And I can go hiking with my family when it’s sunny and cool. I like hiking. Summer is hot in the north of China, but it’s not long time. I often go swimming. It can make me healthy and strong. I can also wear my beautiful dresses. Fall is a season with harvest. And I can eat delicious fruits in this season. I can watch the leaves fall. 我不明白，为什么英语会是和语文数学一样重要的学科，学习语文可以提高分析，阅读，写作能力，可以让我们在各种美好的，离奇的，励志的故事海洋里徜徉，学习数学可以提高我们的思维能力，解决生活中遇到的实际问题，就算学个历史，也可以让我们知道中国上下五千年的光辉事迹，学习地理也可以让我们不出门便可领略祖国的大好河山......学习英语呢？我不反对，生活中我们确实会遇到一些英文说明书，标志什么的，但也不至于把英语上升到和语文数学一样的.高度。

为了英语能考出好成绩，几乎每个家长都使出浑身解数，把自己的孩子推到各种辅导班。浪费了大量的人力物力，还有时间。可这对边远山区的孩子公平吗？外公所在的小学根本就没有英语课，就是想上英语辅导班，也找不到地方。外公经常说：真不明白，为什么一个外国的语言却决定着很多中国的孩子能不能上好大学，真是国家的可悲。是呀，农村的孩子到中学才开始上英语课，我们却已经在辅导班把初中的英语课程学完了。农村的孩子出生便倒在了英语的起跑线上，可悲，可叹。

我不反对学英语，英语也绝不应该和我们的语文数学同比，可以和历史，地理这样的小学科并列，这样既可以把我们的传统文化发扬光大，也给了山区，农村边远地区孩子一个和我们站在同一起跑线的机会。

林禾从四年级开始就担任班长的重任，直到现在，他都没下过岗，由此也可以看出他不仅成绩好，还办事认真，从来不会对班主任老师的话“不屑一顾”。而他也是英语老师的好帮手，每当考试完后，她都会让林禾去批改试卷。林禾的英语成绩直到现在都没有一次低于97分。而“唯一”能和林禾抗衡的人，也就是我啦！但我每次都差他那么一点点分数。

在上课之前，林禾总会读上几分钟英语，他的口音极其流畅，英语从他的口中“涓涓流出”，几乎没有停顿，英语老师上课时总会语重心长地对我们说：“你们看看，林禾读英语时可是初中水平……”

我十分好奇为什么他能这么厉害，于是，在妈妈给我报英语班时，为了学到高品质的英语，我便吵着嚷着要跟林禾一个班。妈妈禁不住我的死缠烂打，只好同意了。结果，我发现这跟我以前的英语班差不了多少。林禾为什么英语这么好，还是一个让人百思不得其解的谜。

直到有一天，妈妈嫌我口语不够好，教训我：“你看看人家林禾，每天都在跟老外模音！”啊！原来林禾口语那么好是因为他每天都在模仿老外的声音！我恍然大悟。

“这应该只是他口语好的一个原因，”我思考着，“一定还有别的原因”。于是，我开始观察他。我每天都偷偷地看着他，希望他有一点口语好原因的痕迹，可是，每次都是枉费心机。一直英语老师无意间和我说：“你知不知道？林禾他不是天生就这么厉害的！他每天都会抽出一定时间读英语，此外他还很喜欢读英文书籍”我总于弄明白了，原来，学英语也应该持之以恒，勤加练习，要不然就会生疏。
